Position Description

Position Summary

Catering on call waitstaff help with all aspects of catered events: set up, service, breakdown and clean up. They also must ensure that standards for quality, safety, sanitation, and presentation are met. Additionally they must have excellent customer service skills and assist with maintaining customer satisfaction.

High School diploma or equivalent

No experience required but food serving experience preferred.

Skills, Characteristics Required for Position

• A positive attitude. Ability to multitask and be a self-starter. Have good time management skills. Must have attention to detail.

Dress Code Requirements:
• Black polo shirt, full length pants, black apron (provided), name tag worn and closed toed shoes.
• For higher end events black slacks (not jeans), white tux shirts (provided), black shoes, black socks, name tag worn and black apron (provided).
• All clothes should not be form-fitted or revealing.
• All hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back.

Special Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• The ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.

Driving Requirements

• Must be able to transport food and supplies to various locations on campus and off campus (within 15 miles).
• A valid driver’s license.

Primary Duties

1. Assist with all aspects of catered events: delivery, set up, service, breakdown & clean up.
2. Interact with customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
3. Assist coworkers in event preparation and execution.
4. Ensure standards for quality, safety, sanitation and presentation are met.
5. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
6. Show responsibility for scheduled shifts.
7. Ensure the timely execution of the event.
8. Maintain supplies, equipment, and workspace.
9. Other duties as assigned.
