Position Description

Position Summary

The Department of Biblical and Religious Studies invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty in the areas of biblical studies, religion, and theology.

Responsibilities

Teach 3-credit undergraduate courses in the department; opportunities will vary by semester and need. Subject areas include Christian Theology, Biblical Studies, and Religion.

Qualifications

Masters degree in the relevant field. Teaching experience preferred. Candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching in a Christian Liberal Arts setting.

The Program

The department of Biblical and Religious Studies offers two academic majors: Biblical and Religious Studies and Christian Ministries. Additionally, the department provides general education courses for all undergraduate students.

The Department

The department of Biblical and Religious Studies is a community of students and Christian scholars who specialize in biblical studies, religious history, theology, world religions, and Christian ministry.
Our goal is to model and encourage informed thinking about Christian faith and practice and the role of religion in the world. We foster spiritual and theological reflection that enables individuals to develop and deepen Christian commitment, interpret matters of faith intelligently, and minister to others with wisdom and compassion.

The College

Messiah College is a Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences and has a student body of approximately 2,800 undergraduate students including 13.9% of under-represented and 5.0% international students from 32 countries and over 600 graduate students including 11.8% of students from under-represented populations.
