Position Description

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance and Internal Operations
is responsible for the monitoring of the day-to-day operations of NCAA intercollegiate sport
programs, oversees critical operational aspects of NCAA Division III compliance, and the
marketing/game-day promotions within intercollegiate athletics. The Assistant Director of
Athletics for Compliance and Internal Operations serves as a role model in meeting our
complimentary goals of “Pursuing Athletic Excellence…Developing Christian Character.”

Education Required

Master’s Degree (Preferred fields of study: Athletic Administration or
Sport Management)

Education Preferred
Experience Required

Minimum of two years of experience in athletics administration

Skills, Characteristics Required for Position

• Ability to administer aspects of NCAA Division III compliance (e.g., eligibility, rules test, transfer regulations, playing and practice seasons, medical hardships, sports safety training, recruiting);
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the stages of student development and the importance of holistic education; and
• Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning/professional development (e.g., presentations, publications, serving on regional and/or national committees).

Primary Duties

1. NCAA compliance oversight and implementation.
2. Supervise and monitor day-to-day operations of NCAA intercollegiate sport programs, serve as an effective liaison between sport programs and the Executive Director of Athletics and Fundraising.
3. Contributing member to the Athletics Leadership Team and the Falcon Athletic Network (FAN) Committee.
4. Implement and supervise Messiah College Athletics assessment procedures.
5. Leadership of apparel contract with Under Armour and Schuylkill Valley Sports.
6. Complete the annual reports for the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) and NCAA Sponsorship and Demographic form.
7. Management of facility Private Seat Licenses (PSLs) (e.g., Shoemaker Field, Hitchcock Arena) and Online Ticketing System.
8. Game Management supervision and serve as NCAA post-season tournament director.
9. Attend NCAA Division III Rules Seminar every three years.
10. Oversee summer sports camp operations.
